Well, that was fast. Newly minted NY Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (who at first glance appears to be a pro-abortion version of Sarah Palin) hasn’t even made her way to Washington D.C. yet, and already people are starting shall we say…dissent.
Yes, it’s true that the New York Times and MSNBC has decided that being “folksy” is suddenly a good thing, but there are reports that some of her Dem colleagues aren’t fond of her, even comparing her (albeit anonymously) to Tracy Glick from perhaps one of the most over rated moves of all time, “Election.”
Then of course there’s my man Pete King, NY representative and Gillibrand’s most probable opponent in 2010. Though instead of making the mistake the Democrat party made in attacking Sarah Palin personally, he’s directing his criticism more to David Patterson and the process of making the selection, which most will agree, got pretty fucked up.
So sayeth the future Senator from the great state of New York:
“There is a crisis of confidence; there is a cloud over this appointment. I’m calling on the governor to produce a timeline on the decision-who he met-what was the basis for his decision to suddenly pull her out of nowhere…It puts a cloud over her appointment. He’s got to fully disclose everything that went into this, any influences, who spoke on her behalf.”
He also said he expected to Gillibrand to quickly alter her positions to diffuse anger from liberals. “I don’t know what she is, but I do know that Chuck Schumer is telling everybody she’s gonna do a 180 on gun control.”
That last part aboot Schumer is the most interesting, because there are A LOT of people who are saying that once Sen. Gillibrand meets “city Democrats” she’ll start to be “educated” and “enlightened.” I believe her first step is to kiss the ring of Rev. Al Sharpton tomorrow. It kind of makes you wonder what the point of appointing her was in the first place, but whatever.
And I’m sure all the moderate voters in New York that live anywhere outside of the five boroughs will enjoy the comments that she hasn’t been “educated” or “enlightened” yet, because as every big city liberal knows, we conservatives are just folks who are too stupid to know any better and not only need their enlightenment…we crave it.
Indoctrination. It’s FAN-TASTIC!
