UFC 115 Predictions: Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin

It was originally supposed to be Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz. Instead, we have Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin after Ortiz had to leave “The Ultimate Fighter.” There are a bunch more matches on the card. Let’s get it on!

I’ll take Evan Dunham because he’s undefeated, and Matt Wiman just because I really hate his opponent Mac Danzig.

The Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald fight is the one I’m most looking forward to, because I’ve been slowly becoming a fan of both fighters. Condit was undefeated in the WEC and I personally think he should have won the fight against Martin Kampmann, but I just can’t see MacDonald losing his undefeated record in his home county of Canada. Rory wins it what should be a really good fight.

Cro Cop over whoever the guy is he’s fighting***. I think their throwing easy fighters at him to try and rebuild the “Cro Cop” from PRIDE (who has looked terrible more than he hasn’t in the UFC so far). They could also be setting up a fight against Ben Rothwell, who I see defeating Gilbert Yvel in their fight.

Paulo Thiago is a sick, sick fighter. I’ll take him over Martin Kampmann.

Rich Franklin has looked great in all his 205 (and 195) fights (except one), and I still think he was robbed in the Dan Henderson fight. Chuck Liddell has gotten into a habit of getting knocked out recently, except in the Keith Jardine fight where he just look bad on his way to losing a decision. Franklin takes this fight with a TKO.

***In my rush to snark, I completely overlooked who Pat Barry was.  I’m still sticking with Cro Cop just because it’s bad luck to switch predictions, but Barry is in no way the softball opponent I thought.
