This isn’t an anti-Tebow column. While I defend people like Bill Maher’s right to be a meanspirited, unfunny douchebag, I’ve said all I have to say aboot the Tebow haters. That said, when Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann claim they want to be the “Tim Tebow” of Iowa…have they looked at the numbers?
Nevermind the fact that after Rick Perry made his comment at the debate instead of him becoming the Tebow of Iowa, Tebow became the Rick Perry of football, they’re both comparing themselves to a Quarterback that has been mostly all media hype with average stats. That is the worst possible comparison for a politician to make. It’s the political equivalent of the news media calling you a front runner even though most polls say you aren’t actually as competitive as everyone keeps saying you are.
If it’s me, I’m going with a winner who doesn’t play football as much as he plays Madden in real life on the beginning settings. Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann can fight over being the “Tim Tebow” of Iowa all they want.
I’m going to be the Aaron Rodgers of blogging.
