About Brodigan

Brodigan was born by the river in a little tent, and just like the river he’s been running ever since…actually, he was born in Queens and moved out to Massapequa a year later where he spends his time. Outside of a book report on Ronald Reagan in the 2nd grade, he never really led much of a political life. He doesn’t work for the government and has no involvement with his local committee. Instead, he lives in the Internet.

He was in the dot com bubble when it burst back at the turn of the century, as a news editor for Snowball.com. That was when he first learned that he owes it to the people to share his thoughts and views on things, and after the 2008 elections started blogging at the originally titled JohnBrodigan.com. In the immortal words of Lynyrd Skynyrd, “all I can do is write about it.”

It was also around this time when he discovered the Young Republicans. In 2009, he was asked to launch the YR podcast “The Right Hook,” which he hosts and produces. Besides interviewing some of the top officials and authors in the game, the show has also started a partnership with FTR Radio, and has represented the YRs at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) for the past two years, as well as developing a strong working relationship with Smart Girl Politics (SGP).

When he’s not changing the face of politics one podcast at a time, he enjoys a cigar with a good craft beer, anything with guitars, and is a huge fan of mixed martial arts…which NEEDS TO BE LEGAL in New York.

  1. Dear John,

Thanks so much for generating this evening’s spit take. I was reading the bio and came to the reference of your appearance on H&C, and how you intended to commemorate the event.

Sloppy Joe, corn and Mike’s Hard Lemonade all over the monitor!

    Excellent work!!

ps. You’re also the latest add to my political bookmark section. I’ll be back for more as often as possible. meo

  2. On Point #2: Laugh out lound funny. Sorry but I grabbed the last (perhaps) only woman who fit that description from Stoney Brook and exported her to Alaska.

  3. Hah! I can’t believe I haven’t visited your website until now. This bio cracks my shit up. I’m glad you’re still hilarious even when you’re serious.

  4. Truly shocking to have not been privy to your site until now. Regardless, it’s innovative and I can easily lay claim to having laughed my ass off on at least one more more topics in each category. Your bio is priceless but in all seriousness, I do have to ask..

How is it you haven’t run for public office by now. Granted your being heard..but I truly think it’s time for you to be “heard” if you get my meaning, Mr. Brodigan.

The very best of luck to you..

    ~ J ~
